Soldier for a Day

Soldier for a Day is the 30th episode of Season 2. Oggy is drafted into the army, given the fact that he is fit for service, much to his fear. But the cockroaches decide to come along and cause havoc in boot camp.

Plot[]

The episode starts off with Oggy chasing the cockroaches around the house, after stealing his overalls. At one point, Oggy finally catches them, squishing them with triumph.

All of a sudden, the doorbell rings. It was the local postman, delivering Oggy's confirmation form for the Soldier Training Camp. He also tells Oggy the bus was waiting for him. This saddens Oggy, since he'll have to leave his own home, containing everything he knew and loved! He tried not to weep, but got himself together as he left his room.

At the camp, the pint-sized general manager, screaming at his troops (including Oggy) told them their first obstacle. He called out Oggy to go first, so he did what he was told. He crawled under the tunnel of barbed wires, untill the cockroaches intervened. They decide to loosen the barbed wire tunnel supports, to the point they come undone, trapping Oggy, with the roaches laughing at him.

The general then demonstrates the next obstacle, where you have to swim underwater from one end, to the other end of the bank. And of course, Oggy goes first. He dives in for a while, untill one point he manages to swallow the whole lake of water! He squirms up to the surface, smirking at the dismayed general, but then, water starts to leak out from his insides due to him having holes all over his body from the barbed wire incident of first obstacle course.

The next course takes Oggy on the monkey bars with a large rucksack, but the weakness of the bars start to bend, plummiting Oggy to the below placed mud puddle, with Oggy still holding on with long, stretched and tired arms.

This leaves the general jumping and angrily grunting at Oggy, leading to the next round, where you try to shoot your bazooka at the bullseye target. But that was also a fail, with Oggy's lousy aim at the target.

the next course was climbing the miniature log staircase. Oggy went up and up. As he climbs, the pesky cockroaches appear from his pocket. Joey suggests a trick by moving previous logs Oggy climbed on, and piling them on continuously beyond the finish point. Up and up Oggy went, as the roaches non-stop, stacked logs, to the point they reached out the Earth's atmosphere. Oggy was tired, but Joey then alerts him that they were in for a long fall back to Earth! Oggy grabbed onto a log, screeching as they plummeted back down to the ground. The general looking upwards with his binoculars, gets his face squashed by the 3 roaches, then gets crushed by a log with Oggy from the sky, with other logs from the sky bashing onto the previous logs that hit the ground, sending the 5 of them through the earth to the point they arrive at China, with Bob even being there as a tourist.

At night, the next course would have Oggy as a military night guard (with a bomb detonator next to him). He was really drowsy, to the point where he wanted to sleep. He tried to stay awake though. The roaches appeared, with Joey having a plan to move the explosives shed next to the general's office building, which is what they did. Inside, the general was having a spa-like rest when he decided to go to the bathroom. He opens the door, leading him inside the explosives shed the cockroaches have placed. He peeps outside the window, seeing Oggy drifting away, accidentally setting off the bomb, causing the explosives shed and his office to explode, leaving the general screaming and then fainting on the ground.

The next morning, for Oggy's punishment, the general made him cut a dozen of potatoes with a small potato peeler. Less than 5 seconds flat, the general is left stunned when Oggy wraps up on the job, cutting all the potatoes into fries!

Oggy was then ordered to operate a tank, but ended up failing miserably as the tank started malfunctioning, causing itself to loose it's parts, flattening the general in the process.

Next, the flattened general ordered Oggy to scrub a dirty outhouse with a single toothbrush. Less than 5 seconds flat, he was again left stunned as not only Oggy managed to clean the outhouse within seconds, he cleaned it so well that it transformed into a golden loo!

On a jet, the general then orders Oggy to operate the aircraft. Things fall apart as the jet's window latch bonks Oggy's helmet, causing his eyes to be covered. This leads to the jet taking off upwards, with it's missiles dropping onto the ground, exploding beneath them, plummeting the ashy aircraft to the ground, with the parachute deploying.

Oggy's next punishment was to iron thousands of soldiers uniforms, with the general, now burnt ash, supervising him, screaming at him to iron faster.

Oggy's final course, was on a military battleship. The general screaming through the intercom, told Oggy not to screw up this time. The roaches appear once more, start goofing about with Dee Dee pressing random buttons activating the wipers, then Joey accidentally setting off underwater missiles from a military submarine, launching upwards towards the ship, causing the whole planet to obliterate.

The last scene, Oggy appears as an angel in heaven, playing his harp. The cockroaches also appear in heaven too, stealing Oggy's overalls once more. Oggy chases them through heaven, ending the episode.

Trivia[]

The scene where Oggy and the Cockroaches are in heaven after the earth was blown up was cut out in the Middle East due to avoid religious connotations.
There are two episodes are similar in plot: To Serve and Protect and Deep Trouble.
