Like any tourist in Paris, Oggy buys a ticket for the Folies Bergère from a sidewalk ticket-salesman and then decides to kill time until the show by going to see the Eiffel Tower. Dee Dee takes advantage of his inattention and snags his ticket...

Welcome to Paris! is the 78th and last episode of Season 2, and was remade as the forty-fifth episode for Season 7 under the title Oggy Goes to Paris.

Plot[]

Oggy wandering and taking photos of Eiffel tower. Oggy takes photos until he hits a sidewalk stand. There, a man was selling tickets for Follies Bergere show in a theater so Oggy buys a ticket. Now Oggy goes to the Eiffel tower ticket counter. He buys a ticket for using the staircase in 3€ as he doesn't want to give 3000€ for the elevator. He proceeds towards the staircase but he sees the elevator so he tries to intrude inside the elevator. A policeman found Oggy so he asked him for the ticket but Oggy flirts with the policeman so he got beaten up and he had to give 3000€ to enter. When the elevator was moving, Oggy sees the policeman down so he shows his tongue to insult him without knowing that the policeman entered the elevator. The police man beats him up making Oggy blind. Oggy walks like a mummy until he got vision by seeing through a binocular. He sees Joey gesturing him to look down. Oggy saw down that Dee Dee steals the ticket and cockroaches run. Oggy chases the cockroaches all over the tower until he reached the tip of the pole in Eiffel tower. Joey asks him to look down, making Oggy gain acrophobia. Joey unscrews the pole and the pole falls on the policeman when Oggy was about to fall on a penguin but he fell on the cloth of a stall and fell on a moving train. The cockroaches bypassed Oggy and danced with the ticket. The cockroaches ran and entered a coach so Oggy tries to go but he couldn't so he asks the driver to stop the train by gesturing. The cockroaches intrude the driver cabin so Oggy gestures the driver but he was unaware so the cockroaches beat up the driver and hijack the train. They drive in an inappropriate way that Oggy goes under the train and intrude a coach. He successfully intrudes but his buttocks and tail got stuck outside and the same policeman asked Oggy what he was doing. Feared that the policeman would punch him, Oggy pulls the alarm which derails the train towards a building and then to the Notre-Dame church. The train stopped there and the chase begins. There Oggy accidentally enters outside and falls on a unicorn designed pole but the pole falls on a man and Oggy falls on the policeman. Now Oggy is arrested with a prison ball and he watches the Folies Bergere show on the TV. In the theatre, cockroaches occupy Oggy's seat and enjoys the show.

Trivia[]

  • This was the last Oggy and the Cockroaches episode that would have a new music score until Oggy and the Magic Shoes.
  • This is also the last episode that Herve Lavandier would ever compose for the series before moving to Futurikon to compose music scores for Minuscule. However, he would return back to Xilam afterwards to finish up the scores for A Kind of Magic and The Daltons before being replaced by Vincent Artaud.
  • Every characters that appeared throughout the series makes their last appearance in this episode like the Penguin from Penguin Pandemonium (Before they are revived in Season 6 and Season 7 as remasters (although few males or females are replaced with Olivia).
  • The second entire half of the episode is copied from Do Not Lean Out of the Window with exact same plot where the roaches hijacks a train and then makes a complete mess on the street. In fact, the music that was used was the exact same music.
  • This is possibly the only episode to feature a church.
  • This is the last episode of Season 2.
  • This is the last episode to be animated at Big Star Enterprise. Starting with the next season, the series would be animated at Armada TMT and Digital eMation.
  • This is the last episode to use the original cartoony style. Future episodes would be given sleeker and realistic designs for the characters to match well with most cartoons that were airing around the time.
  • In remake, there is number 45 in train since it is episode number 45 of Season 7.
