Metamorphosis is the 11th episode of Season 1 and was remade as the 25th episode for Season 6 under the title Cockroach Oggy. The Cockroaches replace one of Oggy's chocolates with a glowing piece, turning him into a cockroach. How will Jack react to Oggy's new roachy appearance?
Plot[]
One night, Oggy is getting ready for bedtime in the bathroom. He shaves his face, wipes his head with a towel, powders his face, applies hair gel to his head and files his nails, all while the cockroaches look on from a chair and mockingly imitate him. After smiling in the mirror, Oggy then kisses it and walks off into his room.
Now reclining in his bed, Oggy reads a book and eats from a box of chocolates on the nightstand. Unbeknownst to him, Joey, Marky and Dee Dee emerge from behind the box of chocolates and replace one of the pieces with a green glowing piece, which he unknowingly consumes as he finishes reading his book and turns off the light to sleep. As Oggy sleeps through the night, the green piece of chocolate starts working its magic on him as a green glow appears from the windows of his house.
The next morning, Oggy turns off the alarm clock, gets off the bed and into his slippers and goes into the bathroom, initially unaware that something strange has happened to him. Turning on the lights, he is so groggy that he doesn't even notice his reflection in the mirror until he starts brushing his teeth, and when he does, he reacts with horror as he recoils against the wall behind him. As it turns out, the irradiated chocolate he ate last night has transformed him into a giant cockroach. Running up to the mirror, Oggy tries to use his flyswatter on his cockroach-turned reflection before placing his hand on the mirror and pulling his long, pointy nose, realizing that he is a cockroach now. Devastated, Oggy grieves over his new form while the cockroaches look on and laugh at his predicament.
Now seated in the kitchen, Oggy is unsure of what to do with his cockroach form, so he crawls along the floor and up onto the countertop, knocking over a stack of bowls and getting ketchup and mustard on him. The cockroach-turned cat then spots the fridge and decides to do what Joey, Marky and Dee Dee would do, knocking most of the food out of it and reclining inside. He eats bottles of hot sauce and jam, causing him to burp and then feel nauseous as he heads out of the fridge to presumably throw up.
Still trying to get acclimated to his insectoid body, Oggy tries to climb up a wall like an actual cockroach, but to no avail, so he gets the idea to use plungers to help him do so. Upon making it to the ceiling, he finds Dee Dee there, who hands him a white box decked out with red crosses as the other two cockroaches saw around the roach-turned Oggy's feet, causing him to fall from the ceiling. On the way down, Oggy rips the box into pieces, thinking whatever is inside can help him. However, the contents of the box are revealed to be a stick of dynamite, which blows him up before he finally collides with the floor.
Pondering on what he can do next as a cockroach, Oggy decides to fly, but despite trying his best, he can't manage more than a short hop. Looking up at the cabinets above, he makes his way to the top of them and jumps off, flapping his wings in the air, only to drop straight to the floor. Squashed flat from the fall, Oggy gets up and walks off.
Underneath the fridge, Joey, Marky and Dee Dee gesture for the cockroach-turned Oggy to come in with them as he tries in vain to squeeze through. Just then, he hears Jack ringing the doorbell, so he makes his way to the door, looks at his cousin through the peephole and opens it to welcome him inside. However, Jack, who doesn't recognize Oggy, reacts with terror to the blue cat's transformed state and falls unconscious. Concerned over his cousin, Oggy shakes him, restoring Jack's consciousness before he freaks out at the cockroach-turned Oggy once again and chases him in circles outside, clobbering him with a stop sign he was holding as the cockroaches cheer for him as if he were in a race.
Jack then chases Oggy into the house as the latter takes refuge in the kitchen and hides behind the fridge, now terrified at the prospect of his own cousin coming to get him. Entering the kitchen, Jack spots Oggy's antennae protruding from behind the fridge and rams into it at full force, knocking the cockroach-turned cat through the wall and into the cockroaches' residence as he lands on a shopping cart. Noticing the cockroaches in their sardine tin bed, Oggy nervously waves at them, but they strap a rocket to the bottom of the shopping cart, much to his horror. Joey then lights the fuse as Oggy scrambles to get out of the cart before it blasts off back the way Oggy came, covering the cockroaches in soot.
The shopping cart, with Oggy still on it, knocks over the fridge and flies through the air as Jack blasts it with a ray gun. As the cart bounces off, Oggy is left lying on the floor and flailing before the effects of the irradiated chocolate wear off, turning him back into a cat. Realizing that the cockroach he was dealing with is Oggy the whole time, a concerned Jack runs over to his unconscious cousin and performs CPR on him, propelling the irradiated piece of chocolate out of his mouth before it lands in Jack's mouth and gets swallowed, turning him into another giant cockroach as Oggy watches before his very eyes.
Oblivious to his transformation, Jack is relieved that Oggy is okay, but the latter, terrified, grabs the stop sign Jack was using before and flattens his cockroach-turned cousin into a disc, after which he crawls out of the house and into the hedge outside. Now relieved that the entire situation is over, Oggy sighs with relief, but the cockroaches impudently laugh at him. However, Oggy catches on to their dirty trick and slams the stop sign over them.
As night falls again, Oggy is once again in bed, reading his book and eating the chocolates on the nightstand next to him. This time, the cockroaches replace one of the pieces with a red glowing one which Oggy also obliviously consumes, turning him into a howling werewolf as a pink glow surrounds his house.
