The eighth season of Oggy and the Cockroaches was announced on September 7th, 2020, under the title, Oggy and the Cockroaches: Next Generation, and was eventually released on Gulli on November 8th, 2021. On Netflix, the thirteen series comprising all 78 parts of the season was released on July 28th, 2022.
In this season, the show covers Oggy as he takes care of Piya, a seven-year-old elephant who is the energetic, happy-go-lucky, and tender-hearted daughter of Oggy's Indian friends. While this presents as a good chance for Oggy to learn to how to be a parent (at the expense of his personal life), this also presents a great opportunity for the Cockroaches to use the blue cat's surrogate daughter to their advantage and find more ways to ruin Oggy's life.
Compared to the other seasons of the show, this season is presented in a completely new light, which includes the implementation of a new art style in line with Xilam's newer shows and focusing more on the aspects of friendship.

- The background music for Seasons 5, 6 and 7 continues in this series with some new background music from the series "Zig and Sharko".
- Bob has a nephew.
- Olivia's yellow bow is missing from this show.
- Oggy's house is smaller than the original.
- Jack is back too, although he is absent in most episodes.
- Much like in Seasons 6 and 7, all episodes of Season 8 are shown to take place before the events of the 4th season finale, Oggy is Getting Married.
- This is the only season/series that does not feature Jack in the opening and ending credits.
- Since Season 5, Joey, Dee Dee and Marky appear in every episode, but sometimes without playing a major role, and sometimes not trying to ruin Oggy's life.

Trivia[]
- Sometime in May of 2021, it was renamed to The New Adventures of Oggy before it was reverted back to its original name later that year.
- Season 8 represents the first time that more than three episodes per series is utilized (6 in this case).
